Dear Community,
In the ever-evolving landscape of the agile market, it's essential to remain responsive to market dynamics and adaptable to change. Today, I'm reaching out to share some significant updates regarding my business and our community.
Last year was very rough for me on the family front, and I dropped the ball with Mandy and this community. We had decided to create a shared platform on Womplers for a new joint venture. Mandy will not add content on this platform as I will take my business in another direction. Mandy and I still remain good friends.
As someone deeply entrenched in the agile market, I've witnessed the shifts within our industry firsthand. While the foundational principles of agile remain relevant, new trends and challenges have emerged, prompting a re-evaluation of my strategies and approaches.
One notable change involves the rebranding of my business. Moving forward, I've decided to transition away from the branding of Womplers and operate under my name, Brett Maytom. This decision reflects a desire for greater alignment with my identity and values.
With this rebranding comes a corresponding adjustment to our online presence. You may have noticed that the blog feed, previously hosted at blog.womplers.com, has now been migrated to blog.brettmaytom.com. This change aims to streamline my communication channels and provide a more cohesive experience for our community members.
Also, I would like to talk about my recent experience with the community platforms. While I initially explored Mighty Networks as a potential solution, it has become evident that the platform does not fully meet my needs. The Mighty Networks platform has significant issues that make it hard for subscribers to see content. From a business perspective, the plan and subscriber mechanism are too restrictive, cannot edit and change plans, and have a few payment flaws. Therefore, I have resumed my content activities on the Substack platform.
Here are some key updates you can expect:
Domain Rebranding: The transition from Womplers to Brett Maytom signifies our commitment to evolution and growth.
Introduction of Paid Subscription Model: To ensure the sustainability of the community, we will be implementing a paid subscription model. New members can enjoy a one-week free trial, giving them a glimpse into our community's value.
Content Accessibility: Public posts will remain accessible for three months before being exclusively available to paid subscribers.
Focused Content: Subscribers can look forward to practical content tailored to address common challenges in the agile market. I aim to provide actionable insights and support to empower our community members.
Newsletter: I will publish a weekly newsletter on LinkedIn and Substack.
Ask Brett: Please reach out to me if there is something you would like to read about.
Founder Subscriber Option: For those eager to support my journey and shape the future of our community, I have introduced a founder subscriber option. Your early contribution will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of our community. I will also recognise you as a founder.
I am excited about the opportunities as we navigate these changes together. Your continued support and engagement are invaluable as we strive to create a thriving and supportive community.
Thank you for being a part of this journey.
Warm regards,
Brett
