Swallowing the frog about what agile is
Yes, I am on my soapbox about what is Agile because what I see is wrong on many levels.
You've heard it all before, right? Agile will turn your team into a super-flexible, ultra-adaptable, pivot-on-a-dime powerhouse. At least, that's the spiel many Agile coaches and consultancies might sell you. But here's a reality check: that's not the whole truth about Agile. It's time to set the record straight and dive into what Agile really is—and, more importantly, what it's not.
Busting the Agile Myth
Let's clarify: Agile is not a magic wand you wave to instantly gain flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to pivot quickly. It will not improve your customer satisfaction, enhance communication, or boost your response to change. Despite what many in the Agile market might claim, these benefits aren't guaranteed simply by deciding to "be Agile." If only it were that easy.
